The L?Ardoise Acadian Festival started as a fundraiser for the parish. From that simple affair it has grown into a lively five day festival at the end of July since 1962.

In operation since 1998, Oshan Whale Watch is a locally owned and operated business run by Captain Cyril Fraser and family. Captain Fraser's clan, whose Gaelic clan moniker is Oshan, have lived in Northern Cape Breton, Nova Scotia for over five generations and have made their living off the sea since first settling in the region.

Since 1997, the Celtic Colours International Festival has featured hundreds of musicians from all over the Celtic world and attracted tens of thousands of visitors to Cape Breton Island. For nine days in October, Cape Breton Island is home to a unique celebration of music and culture as the Celtic Colours International Festival.
